ESP8266 IoT Jenkins CI Lights/Beacon/Build Status Indicator

 

The colours indicate the result (success, warning, failure, unknown) and the the LEDs pulsate while jobs are running. Chewie roars if something goes wrong (red, failure) and he whistles the Indiana Jones theme when things go back to green (success) again.

Note that the screenshots below show a web server on the ESP8266. The latest version of the software drops this because the “SoftAP” mode (station and access point at the same time) was not very usable. It does not work very well, it caused problems in some wireless networks and it was not really used beyond the initial configuration. The current version of the software uses hard-coded wireless network SSID and password and the configuration can be done via the backend web interface, which works much better and is much easier to use and maintain.
